Our Story — Crafting Quality Since 1986 A potted history
Amtrim was founded by David Brindley, whose career in the marine industry began in 1986. Starting out in traditional boatyards, he learned the trade hands-on, developing practical skills in canopy making and marine upholstery and eventually running a busy trim shop.
After a decade pursuing a career in music, David returned to the industry and established Amtrim in 2006, bringing together years of hands-on experience with a renewed focus on quality and craftsmanship.
Built on decades of experience, Amtrim has become known for bespoke boat canopies and marine upholstery that are designed to perform in the British marine environment. Attention to detail, material knowledge, and a practical understanding of how boats are used remain at the core of everything we do.
Today, with David still at the helm, those same standards continue to guide the business. Supported by a highly skilled and experienced team, Amtrim is well positioned for the future, ensuring that the knowledge, craftsmanship, and customer-focused approach behind every project are carried forward for years to come.
