Fabric - Weathermax 80 Woven Polyester - Black
The best and most cost-effective way of keeping the stern deck area of your narrowboat or wide-beam clean and dry is to fit a stern cover. These can vary from a basic all-in-one cover that encloses the area or, as in this case, a more flexible arrangement with a dodger (skirt) around the stern rail and tonneau cover/cap which clips over. Patterned, Fabricated and Fitted by James Torevell.

Please call us on 01772 285100 to enquire about replacing your cratch cover. Fishing canopies, half canopies or cuddy extensions as they are variably known come in all shapes and sizes. They offer valuable shelter from the elements without drastically impeding the cockpit fishing area. The problem with most is the lack of headroom causing the fisherman to stoop or be seated. We had two customers who each had a Warrior 165 and they both wanted a fishing canopy with standing room and for it to convert to a simple overhead shelter by way of removable side panels. We came up with a design, booked them both in and made these two beauties. These Canopies are not available as an off the shelf item as they require specialist fitting.

One of the most frequently asked questions we receive is "How can I remove green stains or mildew from my Sunbrella canvas?"
Here's some helpful information from the Sunbrella web site... General or Light Cleaning: To clean Sunbrella while still on a boat, follow these simple steps:
Heavy Cleaning for Stubborn Stains and Mildew: Sunbrella fabrics do not promote mildew growth, however, mildew may grow on dirt and other foreign substances that are not removed from the fabric. To clean stubborn stains:
Note: Use caution when cleaning the coated (underside) of Sunbrella Plus, Supreme, or Clarity with the recommended bleach solution. The coated side of the fabric should only be sprayed with the recommended bleach solution and rinsed thoroughly. Remember to protect the area around your Sunbrella fabric if using a bleach solution. Carpet or other fabrics that are not Sunbrella may have an adverse reaction to the bleach. View the Sunbrella fabric Stain chart. The most frequently asked questions we receive from our customers about their covers are how to clean them and, especially for PVC hoods, what can be used to protect the fabric and keep it clean? With this in mind we have been working with a chemical company to produce a few of our own products formulated to meet the needs of our customers.
1) "Clean & Protect" - a vinyl treatment for PVC hoods in the form of a light cream that will do exactly what it says on the tin.... clean and protect! The product will leave a protective layer on the surface of the canopy forming a barrier against atmospheric dirt and most importantly UV rays. This will help maintain the fabric's original colour and keep it supple for many years. 2) "ZIPLUBE" - again the name is self explanatory. The main cause of broken zips is simply lack of maintenance. This in turn makes the zips stiff and difficult to operate resulting in them being forced. Ziplube will clean away surface dirt on the zips' teeth and lubricate them ensuring a smooth pull every time. Watch this space for news of product launch. They will be available in our online shop and at the workshop. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers for their continued support over the last year. 2014 proved to be the busiest year we've ever had by a considerable margin; hopefully a sign that the weight of the financial recession we've all been experiencing is finally lifting. Long may it continue and here's hoping for a prosperous 2015.
We've been so busy in fact that I've somewhat neglected the blog for a while so here's a look back at some of last year's work: We shall be attending the Preston Boat Jumble this year on the 5th of May. It is being held in a field just outside Churchtown, Garstang and you can find a Map Link Here. We shall be there with our fully equipped mobile workshop so if you have any canopy repairs please bring them along on the day and we'll fix them up for you. We will also be showing a range of deluxe marine Bucket seats which can be purchased on the day at a special discounted rate. Come along, enjoy the day (good weather guaranteed;-)) and have a chat with us:-) |
